City look set to make a number of key departures on deadline day
Hull City have come to an agreement with Brandon Williams to terminate the defender’s contract to enable him to secure a move away from the MKM Stadium.
The former Manchester United youngster earned a move to the Tigers in the summer after successfully coming through a trial period, which saw him feature in pre-season. He penned a 12-month deal with the option of a second, but that will now not be seen through.
Despite optimism that the 25-year-old could revive his career, Williams struggled to get to a level of fitness where he could compete at Championship level.
In recent weeks, he’s been struggling with a calf problem and has been restricted to just one outing in the Championship, and that five-minute cameo came in the 3-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in August.

His last appearance in a matchday squad was way back on November 25, one of just six this season. Williams had been playing in the Under-21s as part of a plan to get him up to speed, but it has been decided his short stay at the club will now come to an end.
Boss Sergej Jakirovic had been keen to give Williams a chance to resurrect his career after being given a suspended jail sentence in the summer for a serious driving offence, but the move has not worked out for either party.
Williams’ exit has freed up space in the squad to allow the Tigers to strengthen during the transfer window, with Paddy McNair, Kieran Dowell, Yu Hirakawa, Toby Collyer and Lewis Koumas arriving.
James Furlong is expected to depart for League Two before Monday night’s 7pm deadline, while discussions remain ongoing over David Akintola.
