A new eatery at Beverley’s Flemingate opened last week. Inspired by India’s bustling roadside kitchens, The Savoury Embassy promises to serve flavour packed dishes featuring fragrant spices and recipes prepared with care and passion, as well as delivering an authentic street food experience in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Owner Mukesh Tirkoti said the menu has been thoughtfully designed to suit a range of occasions and budgets, offering affordable lunchtime options, a more extensive evening menu and convenient takeaway and collection choices. He said this makes it ideal for shoppers, local workers, families, and evening visitors alike – whether stopping by for a quick lunch, a sit-down meal, or an evening takeaway to enjoy at home.
A key feature of The Savoury Embassy is its commitment to being a completely nut-free eatery, providing reassurance for customers with nut allergies while maintaining the depth and authenticity of Indian street food flavours.
Mr Tirkoti said he was delighted to be open at Flemingate and become part of Beverley’s thriving food scene. Having worked closely with Chef Gajender for the past 12 years and following the success of Ruthvika Spices Kitchen in North Ferriby, Mukesh explained that The Savoury Embassy has been developed in response to current market demand, with a strong focus on fresh, high-quality food using mainly local suppliers.
He added: “Indian cuisine has so much variety, particularly when it comes to street food, and we’re excited to share those flavours in a way that’s welcoming to everyone. Our open kitchen concept also allows guests to see the chefs at work and really enjoy the full dining experience.”
Jason Platten, Head of Retail and Leisure at Wykeland Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome The Savoury Embassy to Flemingate. It’s a fantastic addition that complements our existing food and leisure offer, bringing something distinctive through its focus on Indian street food, affordability, and inclusive dining. The mix of lunch, dinner, and evening and weekend takeaway options makes it a great fit for Flemingate and for the people of Beverley”.
