A 17-year-old boy has been charged with a number of offences following the incident on De La Pole Avenue

A 17-year-old boy was due to appear in court accused of assaulting a 72-year-old man in west Hull. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with a number of offences following an incident on Wednesday (April 29).

Humberside Police say, at around 9.20pm, the man was “seriously assaulted” outside a property on De La Pole Avenue. He “was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries, where he remains at this time”.

The 17-year-old was charged with grievous bodily harm, assault, three counts of assaulting an emergency worker, and criminal damage. He was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday, May 1).
