Zarley’s Wine Bar & Grill – previously Lucias – has officially opened its doors in the heart of Beverley, marking an exciting new chapter for the town’s food and drink scene and a deeply personal milestone for its owner.

The opening weekend has already seen an incredible response, with locals turning out in force to support the new venue. The team at Zarley’s have described the first few days as “nothing short of amazing,” with the warm welcome from the people of Beverley setting the tone for what’s to come.

Eyyup Demir, owner of Zarley’s, said: “The support we’ve had already has honestly blown us away. To see so many people come through the doors in the first few days means everything to us.”

Behind Zarley’s is a story over a decade in the making. The owner, already known locally for owning Central 42, began his journey at the very same site back in 2010, when it was previously home to Lucias.

Starting as a waiter, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming manager just one week later and going on to spend five years building his experience in the restaurant. “This place means a lot to me,” he said.

“I started here as a waiter back in 2010, so to come back now and open my own restaurant in the same building is a real full-circle moment.” In 2016, he took the leap to open his own venue, Central 42, which has since become a well-loved name in Beverley.

Now, nearly ten years on, he returns to where it all began, this time as owner, bringing with him years of experience, passion, and a clear vision for something new. Zarley’s Wine Bar & Grill, North Bar Within, offers a relaxed yet stylish dining experience, serving a menu of steaks, seafood, pizzas and pastas alongside fine wines, cocktails and premium drinks.

Designed to suit everything from casual lunches to evening dining and drinks, the venue aims to become a go-to destination in the town. The name “Zarley’s” itself adds another personal touch as it is a combination of the owner, Eyyup’s, two daughters’ names, Zara and Leyla, making the restaurant not just a business, but something built around family.

“We wanted to create somewhere people can come for any occasion, whether it’s lunch, dinner, or just drinks,” he said. “It’s relaxed, it’s stylish, and it’s something we’re really proud of.”

With strong early momentum and a powerful story behind it, Zarley’s is already shaping up to be one of Beverley’s most exciting new openings of the year. “This is just the beginning,” he said. “We can’t wait to keep welcoming people in and building something special here.”
