Celebration of real ales, ciders and community spirit
After a couple of years on hiatus, Hull’s much-loved Theatre Quarter Beer Festival is back
- The festival will be making a welcome return from Thursday to Sunday, May 21 to 24. It will bring a celebration of real ales, ciders, and community spirit back to the heart of Hull.
- This year’s festival sees a collaboration between some of the area’s most popular venues and suppliers – The New Clarence, Hop and Vine, Brew, Jazz Brew Co, and The Old English Gentleman. Each offers a diverse and carefully curated selection of drinks for festival-goers to enjoy.
- The event will take place across multiple locations within Hull’s vibrant Theatre Quarter, creating a lively, multi-venue experience. In addition, The New Clarence’s function room will host a variety of guest suppliers, and visitors will benefit from its newly installed lift access, ensuring improved accessibility for all.
- To complement the drinks offering, a range of pop-up food vendors will also be in attendance, providing delicious options throughout the festival. A spokesperson said: “The Theatre Quarter Beer Festival promises to be a fantastic opportunity to explore local venues, discover new favourites, and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere once again.”
- The Theatre District Beer Festival started in 2021 to promote people returning to the city centre following the pandemic. It ran in 2022 and 2023 and was becoming known as a great showcase for real ales and ciders.
- The festival is a collaboration between local venues Hop and Vine, The New Clarence, Old English Gentleman and Brew. Local brewers, Jazz Brew Co, will have a pop-up bar in the function room at The New Clarence.
