Restored motors from pre-war models to modern classics will be on show for charity

Classic motors of many kinds will roll into an East Yorkshire garden centre over the August bank holiday weekend. Langlands Garden Centre, in Shiptonthorpe, near Market Weighton, will once again throw open its gates to gleaming bonnets and roaring engines as the Weighton Wolds Rotary Club’s annual charity classic car show makes a return.
The event will take place over the August bank holiday weekend, on Sunday and Monday, August 30 and 31, from 10am to 4pm. The show will raise funds in support of York Against Cancer, a local charity providing vital cancer services.
Visitors can expect rows of beautifully-restored motors, from stately pre-war models to beloved modern classics, during this spectacular two-day showcase. Whether you are a lifelong enthusiast or simply love a good day out, it is the perfect chance to admire some real automotive icons and meet dedicated classic car owners from East, West, and South Yorkshire.
As well as admiring the cars, visitors can enjoy delicious food, take part in the exciting tombola, and say hello to the Rotary Club team at their stall. Langlands Garden Centre, part of the British Garden Centres family, also invites guests to dine at the recently-refurbished Gardener’s Retreat restaurant, as well as to explore the rest of the centre.
The venue provides ample free parking, wheelchair access, and coach-friendly facilities to ensure a welcoming experience for all. Entry to the classic car show is by donation, with all proceeds going directly to York Against Cancer.
The Weighton Wolds Rotary Club is proud of its commitment to giving back to the community. Since the first classic car show in 2014, the event has grown exponentially, attracting over 1,000 visitors and raising thousands of pounds for various charities.
