The Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Beauty Awards will be held in Cleethorpes in October and will crown a Mr Yorkshire who will then compete to be Mr England
Men across Yorkshire are invited to practice their best talents and spruce themselves up – as Cleethorpes prepares to host an event to find the next Mr Yorkshire. Men across the county are invited to apply and will be asked to go through a series of rounds, with the winner progressing to battle it out to become Mr England.
All aspiring Mr Yorkshires need to do is submit a photo and fill in an online form to be in with a chance of being invited to the The Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Beauty Awards. The awards will serve as the official regional qualifier for both the Miss England and Mr England competitions. Organisers are inviting applications from both Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, giving young women and men from across the two counties the opportunity to compete for places in the Miss and Mr England National finals.
Angie Beasley, the Grimsby-born former Miss North Lincolnshire who has since become the director of Miss England, will return to Cleethorpes in October to search for Mr Yorkshire. The Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Beauty Awards will take place at the Beachcomber on October 17. The same event will also crown a Miss Yorkshire, a Miss Lincolnshire and a Mr Lincolnshire. All four winners will go on to compete in the Miss and Mr England competitions.
Angie said: “We are looking for contestants – both boys and girls – to enter. They need to be 16-32 years old and they need to be living in the areas that they are representing. They will be invited to enter a talent round – so if they’ve got a talent we want to see it.
“The guys don’t have to do as many rounds as the girls. There will be a catwalk round and a photographic round. All they need to do is submit a photo to enter, and tell us about themselves. We’ve had welders, builders, carpenters in the past. It doesn’t matter what they do but they’ve got to be prepared to go abroad to enter an international competition next year. For example, the current Mr England went to Vietnam for Mr World.” The Mr England winner will compete in the Mr World contest in 2027, and all expenses are paid.
The current Mr England, Manuel Alcantara Turner, represented England at Mr World. Manuel is a former King’s Guard at Buckingham Palace, and served at both Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral and at King Charles III’s coronation. He joined the army when he was 16 and served for 10 years. Mr England’s most recent runner up was a sheep farmer, and now is a WWE star. Mr England is only held every three or four years, so for competitors who fancy a go – this is their opportunity.
To apply to be the next Mr England, download the Miss England App for free and complete the online entry form on the app. Visit the Miss England website for more information.
