Free maritime-themed events and activities continue in Hull city centre this weekend with ‘Of the Crustacean Persuasion’ which features a giant lobster takeover, an interactive drive-about performance by Captain Monty Montague in his cabin cruiser towing his water-skiing wife, Minty and a real life mermaid caught in a huge sea sphere gracefully gliding her way through crowds.

We are heading into weekend number five of the events and visitors can look forward to another programme of exciting family-friendly entertainment that celebrates the city’s rich maritime heritage through creativity, adventure and discovery. A wave of maritime-themed activities will be in the city centre with something to entertain visitors of all ages.

Queen Victoria Square has provided a lively focal point throughout the summer with another weekend of fun upon us – the changing programme of walkabout performances and interactive entertainment has delighted visitors.

Alongside the outdoor programme, Hull’s museums and galleries will offer a range of family activities, exhibitions and opportunities to discover the stories that have shaped the city’s maritime identity, creating a summer packed with exploration, creativity and fun.
