Catalans Dragons have confirmed that hooker Alrix Da Costa will join Hull FC for the 2027 season.
The Black and Whites signed the French international a couple of months ago, with the player set to link up with the club ahead of November’s pre-season training after spending 11 years in Perpignan.
Rising through the Dragons youth system, Da Costa has played 165 games for the club to date. He was part of the Catalans side that won the Challenge Cup in 2018 and reached Super League Grand Finals in 2021 and 2023.
Of course, the French dummy-half has played the majority of his career under incoming Hull coach Steve McNamara – whom he will reunite with next season.
Speaking on his move to Hull FC, Da Costa told the Catalans website: “After more than 10 years with the Dragons, I felt the need to experience something different for myself and my family.
“It wasn’t an easy decision, but I will take away nothing but great memories that will stay with me forever, as well as friendships that will last a lifetime. This club will always be my club at heart.
“I would like to thank Bernard (Gusach, club owner) for all these years, as well as all the players and staff I have had the chance to work alongside throughout my career. And, of course, I want to thank the supporters, who have always been there through the good times and the bad. There are still five games to go, and I want to finish strongly for my club.”
Da Costa adds to the signings of Hull-born full-back Bailey Hodgson and NRL half-back Daly Cherry-Evans – the latter of whom was announced on Thursday night as one of the club’s biggest ever additions. The club have also signed Leigh forward Isaac Lui.
