Whether he gets his third Super League opportunity of the year against Leigh Leopards remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Noah Booth is continuing to impress those within the four walls of Sewell Group Craven Park.
The 21-year-old has been knocking on Willie Peters’ door since making his Super League debut last season. Booth joined the club from Wakefield Trinity in a swap deal involving Neil Tchamambe ahead of the 2025 campaign, signing a four-year contract.
He has gone on to score nine tries in 10 appearances for the Robins to date, while he marked his senior debut for Wakefield in the 2024 Championship campaign.
With Oliver Gildart set to miss this week’s clash with Leigh Leopards due to a head injury, Booth is among the contenders to fill the vacancy in the centres.
It’s likely Peters will opt for a more experienced option in what promises to be a fierce contest at Sewell Group Craven Park, with Rhyse Martin and James Batchelor also emerging as potential replacements to face Adrian Lam’s Leopards.
Regardless, Booth continues to develop in East Hull and is catching the eye of those around him – including veteran team-mate Peta Hiku, who has enjoyed a decorated career spanning both hemispheres and more than 300 senior appearances.
“The coaching staff are doing a good job with him, but when he does have questions, I’m happy to help,” Kiwi icon Hiku said of Booth.
“He’s a phenomenal talent. He’s young and has a long way to go, but his attacking ability comes naturally. There’s still a lot for him to learn.
“Physically, he’s strong, so defensively he’s good, but he’s got to find that balance between patience and the other areas of his game.
“You can see the potential he’s got. He works very hard and, most importantly, he wants to learn. You can see how far he can go in this game.”
Booth last featured in the Super League win over Wigan last month, scoring a try in the 62-4 victory over a youthful Warriors outfit.
