Hull FC are still to finalise their matchday side for Friday’s game against Wakefield Trinity, with Andy Last set to make a final call on Davy Litten and Lewis Martin at Thursday’s team run.

Both players were named in Hull’s 21-man squad this Wednesday, having overcome knee and ankle issues that have kept them out of the last three games, but Last has stated they are not 100% certain to play yet – with some final boxes to be ticked.

“I’m still not 100% sure if they will both play,” Last said. “They have both trained and they have both trained very well.

“They just need to get some more reps under their belt. We’ve still got some decisions around the team, but that’s a good position to be in.

“We just need to get the balance of the team right between what we have done well and how the players have performed. There are a couple of tough decisions we still need to make.”

Elsewhere, Aidan Sezer and Lloyd Kemp are both good to go after complaints of tight groins and hamstrings after the Huddersfield Giants win last week.

“They’re okay,” Last confirmed. “Lloyd is tough as teak. He’s not the biggest but if it was about heart, Lloyd would be at the top of the queue. He’s a tough little player. He’s going to be okay.

“Aidan was just a precaution. He felt his groin tightening up so we took him off and put Will Hutchinson back on.

“We’re managing a couple of bumps and bruises. I think that’s standard Super League at this time of the season.”

However, the Wakefield game has come too soon for Zak Hardaker, who is still out with a neck issue suffered against Warrington Wolves and still needing to pass the sport’s return-to-play protocols after a failed HIA. James Bell is still managing a knee injury.

“Zak is down to head protocols,” Last said. “He’s not quite made it. His neck is still a bit sore and he’s not able to play.

“Hopefully, he should be good to go for next week. He just needs to pass his head test.

“Belly is okay. He’s just a little bit sore after the exposure to running. He’s had a clean out in that knee and it’s getting on top of the swelling which is an ongoing thing.

“He’s just got to tolerate the loads we’re putting on that knee, the change of direction, etc., and then just make sure it doesn’t react in a negative way. We’re mindful of that.

“He’s missed a bit of football, has Belly so we don’t want to rush him back. We don’t want him to come back for a couple of weeks and then go missing again. We’d rather air on the side of caution and get him 100% right.”

On the injury front, Hull also remain without Will Pryce (ACL), John Asiata (hamstring), Cade Cust (shoulder), Sam Lisone (pec), Ligi Sao (shoulder), Arthur Romano (ankle), Connor Bailey (collarbone), and Joe Ward (ACL). Yusuf Aydin and Roman Dawson remain suspended.

Ed Chamberlain has also been ruled out for the rest of the 2026 season with a foot injury. The Hull FC player has been playing on loan at Bradford Bulls.

“He’ll be out for the year,” Bulls head coach Kurt Haggerty confirmed. “He’s got a Lisfranc injury so his season is done.”
