They locked her in a bedroom against her will and then dragged her into another one, where she was attacked

Two teenage boys who subjected two women to sexual offences and rape have been locked up for a combined total of 10 years. Their victim was locked in a bedroom and physically assaulted, before being dragged into another where she was raped by both of the boys.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty of three counts of rape, false imprisonment, actual bodily harm and sexual assault following a trial at Grimsby Crown Court. He has now been sentenced to four years in prison with an extended licence period of five years.

A 17-year-old boy, who also cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty of three counts of rape, false imprisonment and actual bodily harm. He has been sentenced to six years in prison with an extended licence period of five years.

Humberside Police said after the hearing that the incident came to light when the rape victim immediately reported to a member of the public that she had been locked in a bedroom against her will by two males in the early hours of the morning. She was assaulted by both males causing injury to her head and face.

She said she was then dragged into a different room and raped by both boys before managing to escape. She approached the member of the public who contacted police and stayed with her whilst officers were immediately deployed to the scene. An investigation was launched and the Humberside Police force control room received a phone call from another woman stating she knew the identity of the two boys and that they had sexually assaulted her in the month prior and advised the call hander of their home address.

Officers attended a property in Hull with a warrant to conduct arrest attempts. Upon arrival a boy who matched the description of one of the suspects was seen to attempt to flee the scene to evade arrest but was subsequently detained by officers and arrested on suspicion of rape, assault, false imprisonment and sexual assault.

In the early hours of the following day, the other suspect was tracked down and subsequently arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, harassment and false imprisonment. Both boys have identified themselves as Romanian.

Detective Constable Shelley Fuller who lead the investigation said: “I’d first like to commend the bravery of the woman who came initially came forward and of the second woman who also called in to report her assault that helped us identify these two individuals. Coming forward is not easy but it is thanks to their courage that these two boys can no longer cause harm to anyone else.
