Unique learning environment is first of its kind for the region
- East Riding Adult Learning’s mobile learning centre is set to tour towns in the region, running engagement events and learning sessions on getting ready for maths and English, for residents. The centre, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) brings learning facilities directly to the community, enhancing education delivery in the East Riding.
- The bespoke classroom, fitted into the bus, offers a unique learning environment, the first of its kind in the region. The mobile learning centre, operated by East Riding Council, will visit Hornsea Hub on Mondays, March 2, 23, and 30.
- It will also visit Beverley on Monday, March 9; Hornsea Mere on Wednesday, March 11; Withernsea seafront on Wednesday, March 18; Castle Hill Hospital on Thursday, March 19, and Bridlington on Wednesday, March 25. The centre has received £170,000 in investment to support residents with preparation courses prior to supporting a maths or English qualification.
- Cllr Anne Handley, East Riding Council leader, said: “We’re proud to support lifelong learning across the East Riding and enable residents to develop their skills and qualifications. We encourage interested residents to visit the learning centre if they can and sign up to the courses available.”
