The 22-year-old winger has endured a difficult second half of the season
Winger Abu Kamara is set to return to Spanish outfit Getafe once he recovers from the ankle injury which has kept him sidelined in recent weeks.
Kamara hasn’t played in La Liga since just before Christmas, having picked up his ankle issue. He has been back in East Yorkshire receiving treatment and has been at the MKM Stadium to watch Sergej Jakirovic’s side in action during the early weeks of the New Year.
There had been discussions about whether or not the 22-year-old would stay at City and even potentially feature in the final weeks of the season, with City boss Sergej Jakirovic hinting that it was a possibility.
City do not have the extra space in their squad, with 23 players named and two more spaces set aside for Eliot Matazo and Mo Belloumi, but David Akintola could yet be added with Yu Hirakawa’s ankle injury set to rule him out of the season.

Getafe head coach José Bordalás is keen to have the winger back at the Estadio Coliseum, and that now looks like being the case with Kamara heading back to the Spanish capital to complete his loan stint and add to his nine outings in the top flight.
It remains to be seen whether Kamara’s move to La Liga is made permanent in the summer, but for the player who arrived at the MKM Stadium in the summer of 2024, getting back fit will be absolutely crucial to get his campaign back on track.
