The Canadian winger has featured in all 11 of City’s recent league and cup outings
Liam Millar admits ups and downs are part and parcel of being a professional footballer, as he looks to find his consistency after almost a year out.
The exciting winger has been a regular since returning from a hamstring injury at the beginning of December, and notched his first goal since the win over Leicester City in October, when he netted the opener at former club Preston North End last Tuesday.
Millar revealed earlier in the season that he had been warned by doctors that it could take as long as 12 months to return to his peak level after undergoing ACL surgery last season.

By his own admission, the 26-year-old says he’s not been fully content with all of his displays in the past few weeks, but says going back to basics has helped him rediscover the form he showed immediately after his return from a year on the sidelines.
“I think football is just all about ups and downs,” City’s number seven told Hull Live. “I’m gonna have periods where I’m gonna be really good, and then I’m gonna have periods where maybe I’m not so good.
“It’s just about how you deal with it and how long it lasts. I’m not going to say I was really happy with my performances a couple of weeks ago and whatnot. I’ve tried to go back to basics and do what I need to do.
“I’ve started to play better again since I’ve done that, so I think it’s just all about how you deal with it, how you adapt, and that’s what I’m trying to do.”
Millar is also content with filling in at wing-back if needed, to help his side out, as he has been doing in recent games since Ryan Giles’ injury.
The Canadian has previously expressed his desire not to play there, and suggested that was one of the reasons he declined Ryan Lowe’s offer to move to North End permanently following his loan spell, but says he’ll do whatever’s required to help his manager.
“I think it just brought me back to the old days, really playing wing-back, but no, honestly, with Gilo being injured and the injuries that we’ve had, we’ve obviously had to change.
“I was more than able to do it under Ryan (Lowe) at Preston, and I told the gaffer that if he needs me to do it, I’m more than happy to do it. He has a trust in me that he feels like I can do it. I feel like I’ve been playing well, but yes, it’s been good.”
