Hull FC have been dealt their latest injury blow, with Davy Litten dropping out of the 21-man squad ahead of Thursday’s trip to St Helens with an ankle injury.
The centre, who scored two tries at Huddersfield Giants last week, will be further assessed in the coming days, with a full update to come later this week on his prognosis. He is one of two changes to the squad, with Ben Johnson also dropping out.
Elsewhere, Hull are boosted with the return of long-term absentee Arthur Romano. The French player has been since the Good Friday derby at Hull KR, having sustained an ankle injury that has kept him out for nearly four months late in the game. Young hooker Will Hutchinson also comes into the squad.
Herman Ese’ese, who missed last week’s game at Huddersfield with viral tonsilitis, is named. The prop returned from a nine-month Achilles lay off in June.
Meanwhile, Litten’s knock means Hull are still without ten players to injury despite Romano’s return to the squad. The Hull-born centre is joined on the treatment table by Will Pryce (ACL), John Asiata (hamstring), Sam Lisone (pec), Ligi Sao (shoulder), Connor Bailey (collarbone), Brad Fash (knee), Callum Kemp (shoulder), Will Kirby (ACL), and Joe Ward (ACL).
