Liam Knight has signed for a new Australian club.

Former Hull FC prop Liam Knight has found a new club in Australia. The now 31-year-old played his last game for the Black and Whites against York Knights at the end of February before being released from the club on compassionate grounds.

The forward has since returned to Australia to be closer to partner Danika Mason – one of the leading TV personalities in the NRL – and will now line up the boots once again. Signing for regional bush club Cessnock Goannas, Knight will play in the Newcastle Rugby League competition and could be in action as early as this weekend.

The prop was an emergency signing after Ligi Sao’s season-ending knee injury in 2025, and spent just shy of a year at Hull. He played 19 times for John Cartwright’s side last season and was one of the club’s better players before a stress fracture prematurely ended his year. He then appeared in Hull’s first three Super League games before heading back Down Under.

In the NRL, Knight managed over 80 appearances playing for Manly Sea Eagles, Canberra Raiders, South Sydney Rabbitohs, and Canterbury Bulldogs. He debuted in the competition in 2016 and also played in the New South Wales Cup.

On his departure from Hull FC, Knight wrote on social media last month: “Thank you to @hullfcofficial for the last year. It was a privilege to be a part of this great club. Thank you to all of the fans who made my time in England so memorable. I wish the club and everyone involved the very best for the 2026 season. Thanks for the memories.”
