Plans also include a car wash, EV charging hubs and a retail shop

Plans for new roadside services off the A63 have been submitted to East Riding Council. If approved by the council, the new site would include facilities such as a petrol station and a drive-thru coffee shop.

The site would be on land south of the A63 Petuaria Way, near Brough. The land is west of the East Riding Community Foundation Centre on Common Lane.

Access to the site would come from the south, via Stanley Jackson Way. Also in the plans are a car wash, EV charging hubs and a retail shop.

The drive-thru coffee shop would be the southern most aspect of the site and would be the facility closest to the access road. The petrol pumps and shop would be further north.

A number of objections to the plans have been submitted on the council’s planning portal. One objector claims there is little need for the site due to a number of over petrol stations nearby.

Another objector raised concerns about a loss of green space. The site is currently open green land.

The plans do include the planting of 37 new trees. Many of the trees would be planted near the entrance of the site. This, plans say “will create an attractive environment and will soften the appearance of the roadside services facility.”
