Hull FC prop Liam Knight has escaped suspension after his sin bin offence at Wigan Warriors on Saturday night. The front rower was yellow carded for a dangerous lift tackle on Wigan forward Sam Walters, but while receiving two charges from the RFL’s Match Review Panel, he has avoided a ban and is free to play against York Knights on Friday night.
Knight’s charges are both Grade B offences for ‘Head Contact’ and ‘Dangerous Throw/Lift.’ The prop has also been fined, meaning his total penalty points have been halved. He now stands at 4.5 points.
Meanwhile, Wigan centre Adam Keighran has copped a Grade B ‘Late contact on the passer’ charge. The Wigan centre caught Hull full-back Will Pryce high and was subsequently yellow carded at the time. He has received tree penalty points and a fine.
Huddersfield Giants outside back Sam Hewitt is the only Super League player suspended after the weekend’s action, with the 26-year-old one of nine charged by the RFL’s Match Review Panel.
Hewitt has been hit with a ‘Grade C Late Contact on Passer’ charge, an offence that carries with it five penalty points. The player already had two points on his disciplinary record, putting him over the threshold for a one-match ban.
