The winger has not played since the win over Swansea City last month
David Akintola could yet have a role to play between now and the end of the Championship season, after the winger failed to secure a move away from Hull City.
Akintola, who arrived at the MKM Stadium in the summer after leaving Caykur Rizespor in Turkey, looked to be on his way out of the Championship club during the winter transfer window, but that did not come to pass.
The Nigerian winger turned down two moves back to the Super Lig, while other moves to the Middle East and Slovenia also failed to materialise.
City will now keep Akintola as part of the first team squad, and he could yet have an impact in the remaining weeks of the campaign, as the Tigers look to revive their flagging play-off surge.

Saturday’s defeat at home to QPR left Sergej Jakirovic’s men without a win in their past three games, and they face play-off rivals Derby County at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday night.
Akintola, 30, has not yet been registered in the City’s squad since the transfer window closed, but there are two places still available which could yet be utilised.
The Tigers must decide whether to include Akintola, or Mo Belloumi and Eliot Matazo when they return to fitness after their respective injury lay-offs.
As first revealed by Hull Live, Abu Kamara is also back at the club, receiving treatment for an ankle injury sustained during his loan move to Getafe in Spain. Kamara could also yet feature in the remaining weeks of the season, should he recover and an agreement be struck with the La Liga outfit.
