People have a few weeks to take advantage
EDF is offering £50 credit to new and existing customers who sign up for any of its electric vehicle (EV) tariffs over the next few weeks. The full range of EV tariffs – GoElectric, Pod Point EV Exclusive, Evolve and Pod Point Plug & Power – all come with five hours of cheaper electricity every night between 12am and 5am for both customers’ homes and cars and are backed by 100% zero-carbon electricity, the firm said.
EDF’s EV tariffs are compatible with all vehicles, regardless of the make or model. As part of the offer, customers on Evolve or GoElectric tariffs can bolt on and receive an additional £5 a month – simply for plugging in. Smart Charging also extends off‑peak rates for both home and EV charging beyond the standard 12am to 5am window, helping customers make the most of cheaper, low‑carbon electricity.
When combined with the Smart Charging reward and the £50 cashback offer, the GoElectric tariff becomes the most cost‑effective option on the market, EDF claims. For an average motorist, based solely on charging, GoElectric will save drivers £1,079.92 a year compared to petrol.
“We know customers are looking for ways to save money in the new year, so we’re giving £50 credit to anyone who signs up to one of our EV tariffs by February 15,” said Rich Hughes, Director of Retail at EDF.
“Our EV tariffs make charging at home simpler and more affordable, with five hours of cheaper electricity every night, helping households cut their energy costs while they sleep. By choosing an EDF EV tariff, customers can reduce their carbon footprint, take advantage of cleaner electricity, and play an active part in Britain’s transition to a more electric, sustainable future – all while saving money.”
For more information on our tariffs and how to sign up, visit the EV tariff webpage. To be eligible for the EV tariff, customers are required to have a smart meter installed and be opted into half-hourly meter readings. The £50 credit will be applied to their EDF account within 30 days of successfully signing up to an eligible EV tariff.
