Hull FC face Toulouse Olympique in the South of France this Friday night.

Hull FC will travel to the South of France on Thursday ahead of Friday’s Super League penultimate regular season game against Toulouse Olympique.

The Black and Whites will follow a similar path to the one that saw them defeat Catalans Dragons in Perpignan the week before last, spending two nights in France and travelling home the day after the game.

Outlining the week ahead, recovery is set to be Hull’s primary focus following Saturday’s 16-14 defeat to Warrington Wolves – with Andy Last well aware of the challenge presenting his side against the French outfit, who sit ninth in Super League following their ninth win of the season against Bradford Bulls over the weekend.

“We’ll do a recovery session on Monday and we’ll get the boys started into the week,” Last told Hull Live. “We’ll give them the day off on Tuesday, train on Wednesday, and then we’ve got a full day of travelling on Thursday. We play Friday and travel back Saturday. It’s a busy old week.

“It was tough this week on the back of the Catalans trip last week just to get enough energy into them. We’ve had a tough old game again. It went right to the last set of the game again just as Catalans did.

“We’ll need to make sure we are smart with our protocols and our recovery and make sure that the boys stay fresh, keep those energy tanks up, and give a good account of themselves against Toulouse.”

On the injury front, Hull will monitor the likes of Zak Hardaker and Cade Cust ahead of the clash, while Connor Bailey is also in contention to play after recovering from a broken collarbone. He was the 18th man against Warrington.

“It’s great to have him in the mix again,” Last said. “He suffered a severe collar bone fracture. He’s got a nasty scar. He’ll come into consideration for the game at Toulouse.”
