A community group helping people tackle loneliness and learn new skills is searching for a permanent home.
Men in Sheds Hedon & District currently meets at the town’s Royal British Legion Club, but it is looking to find a workshop suitable enough for its building activities.
The group, which became part of Humber Men in Sheds Alliance as a registered charity in November, meets every Wednesday and encourages people to come together to make, repair and repurpose items for the community.
Trustee Ian McColm, 69, said: “People have sheds at the bottom of their gardens but they miss the cup of coffee, the natter, the community spirit.”
McColm, who lives in Thorngumbald and is a former hotel manager, said the group, which currently has about 10 people, was looking for somewhere more permanent “where we can have other tools, space to fix things and storage as well”.
McColm said they were ideally looking for a dry, unused shed, which has toilets, running water and electricity in the South Holderness area.
