A youthful Hull KR outfit were no match for Wigan, with the Warriors celebrating the life of Sir Billy Boston with a dominant 46-0 victory at the Brick Community Stadium.
Head coach Willie Peters named three debutants in his squad – including a start for academy product Frankie Dearlove, who was promoted to the senior team ahead of the 2026 season.
The Robins were forced into changes after a hectic schedule, but the club’s youngsters can be proud of their effort in terrible conditions.
Jack Broadbent – 5: Defied biblical conditions to catch everything that came his way at the back.
Harvey Horne – 5: The youngster marking his Super League debut, and in a tough situation against Wigan’s prolific try-scorer Liam Marshall, who crossed for a hat-trick in the Warriors’ victory.
Louix Gorman – 5: The young centre looks like he could have a bright future in Super League. He wasn’t afraid to do some tough stuff deep inside his own half, getting through plenty of work.
Noah Booth – 5: More experience and another step on his journey into being a first-team regular.
Lee Kershaw – 5: Hull KR’s highlights included his run in the second half, as the ex-London Broncos outside back marked his first Super League appearance for the Robins.
Arthur Mourgue – 5: In the halves to gain more valuable match fitness after lengthy periods out through injury, but it was a tough ask for the half-backs.
Jack Charles – 5: A second consecutive appearance for the young half-back, but it was always going to be an uphill battle.
Sauaso Sue – 5: An opening 20 minute stint, and perhaps larger minutes as he also regains match fitness from injury setbacks.
Bill Leyland – 6: Got through a lot of defence, including forcing a goal-line drop out in the conditions on Zach Eckersley. More than 50 tackles for the hooker.
Sam Luckley – 5: An opening 27 minute stint for the prop who started in the front-row – just his eighth for Robins. He won a Captain’s Challenge midway through the second half as Rovers had a good spell of pressure. Luckley also passed a head injury assessment in the second half.
Rhyse Martin – 5: One of the most experienced on the field and did what he could.
Frankie Dearlove – 6: An academy product marking his first-team debut in the back-row. A special moment for the youngster and his family, who was denied a debut try by Bevan French in the second half. A massive effort in defence. He also played the full fixture.
Karl Lawton – 5: A start at loose forward for the Australian, who was also among the most experienced. Very tough conditions, with the match threatened by a storm.
Tom Amone – 5: He’ll have a big say in the remaining games for the Robins as they look to secure their play-off place.
Zach Fishwick – 5: Marked his first senior appearance since 2022 and was immediately in the wars with a busted nose. Willie Peters shared his pride for the young forward in his post-match press conference.
Declan Murphy – N/A. Only came on for his debut in the last 10 minutes, but definitely proved to be a bright prospect ahead of his move to Hull KR.
Alfie Woods – N/A. Another to mark his debut, but only late on. A moment to celebrate, however.
