Hull KR were simply too good for Castleford at Wheldon Road

Hull KR claimed their third win in a row as they beat Castleford Tigers 44-0 to climb up to fourth in the Super League table.
The Robins scored eight tries at Wheldon Road as they capitalised on what has been a week of disruption for Castleford following the suspension of head coach Ryan Carr.
Jez Litten got the ball rolling for the East Yorkshire outfit before Tom Davies scored to give them a 10-0 at the break.
What followed in the second half was an avalanche of tries though as Tyrone May scored twice while Davies, Peta Hiku, Joe Burgess and Rhyse Martin all got over to push Rovers above Warrington Wolves for the time being and into fourth.
The Robins will have always fancied their chances given the turmoil at Wheldon Road in midweek, but Peters’ side were sloppy early on and a penalty in the first set gave Castleford field position.
Ultimately, KR were savvy enough to keep the Tigers at bay with Jack Broadbent being alert to a bouncing kick to force a drop out, while Tom Davies rushed off his line expertly to wrap up Krystian Mapapalangi as the tryline opened up.
However, with 12 minutes on the clock, KR took the lead through a moment of individual brilliance from Litten. Spotting the space, the hooker darted out of dummy half before kicking through into the in-goal area and showing the pace required to touch it down.
Rovers took control of the game but errors prevented them from adding to their lead. That was until Tyrone May picked out Davies on the edge in space.
With the tryline gaping, the winger had enough about him to finish acrobatically in the corner, beating Mapapalangi to the line.
Jai Whitbread thought he had scored before seeing his effort ruled out for offside before Burgess managed to avoid punishment for an unnecessary tip tackle on the hooter.
Rovers had the best possible start to the second half though as May forced his way over the line from 10m out. Rhyse Martin and Ryan Hampshire combined to build the platform for it but May got Rovers on a roll and he was there to finish the set with a strong dart to the line.
Peters’ side had the game all but wrapped up with 50 minutes on the clock when Burgess intercepted a pass intended for Louis Senior to go 95m and touch down in front of the Rovers fans.
Hiku scored KR’s fifth of the night before May charged down a kick to give himself the opportunity to dot down for his second of the night.
With the score building up, Davies added his second after combining well with Hiku and Martin wrapped things up by taking advantage of some sloppy defence to touch down in the corner. A job well done in West Yorkshire.
