Home Farm, which was previously a Brewers Fayre restaurant, is opening next month

A long-standing Hessle restaurant that closed earlier this year is set to reopen as a JD Wetherspoon pub next month. Home Farm, off Ferriby Road, was previously run by Whitbread as a Brewers Fayre and had been operating since 1993 before it shut in March.
The company recently announced it was shutting all of its branded restaurants around the UK including Beefeater and Brewers Fayre sites, a number of which will be converted into additional Premier Inn hotel rooms. However, pub chain JD Wetherspoon acquired the Hessle venue and have been getting it ready to reopen soon.
The firm, which operates around 800 pubs around the country including Hull’s Admiral Of The Humber and Three John Scotts, says Home Farm will open – with the same name as before – on Wednesday, August 5.
Between 40 and 45 jobs are being created at the pub, which will be managed by Scott Houlton. He said: “Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers into Home Farm and we are confident that the pub will be a great addition to the local social scene.”
Food will be served throughout the day, from opening until 10.30pm every day. It will be open for family dining and children, accompanied by an adult, are welcome in the pub up until 9pm throughout the week.
Home Farm will specialise in real ales and traditional ciders, as well as craft and world beers, serving a wide range of different draught ales, as well as bottled beers, including those from local and regional brewers. The pub will be wheelchair accessible and have a specially-adapted toilet for people with disabilities.
There is also a large beer garden to the rear of the venue. Historical photos and details of local history, as well as artwork and images of local scenes and characters of the area, are on display in the pub. Home Farm takes its name from a nearby country estate farm, reflecting the area’s rural past, echoed today by Home Farm Cottages, also in the local area.
