Cherry Burton village show celebrates its 81st year on Sunday, July 19. Running from 1pm to 6pm, it will be taking over a larger site at the village sports field.
While retaining its traditional roots, the show is being constantly updated to keep pace with current trends to suit all the family. As well as the numerous produce, baking and crafts entries all vying for the Best in Show awards in the new exhibits marquee, there are now trade stalls, live bands, lots of children’s entertainment and exciting food outlets. The Charm Offensive, Emily River Thomson, The AFO Choir, Wilder Roots, Humber Wind Band and Marnie Black is CHERwill be entertaining the crowds on the field, alongside Kidzone activities such as magic shows, sing-song sessions, drum workshops, kids’ yoga, and Scouts activities, tennis sessions, classic cars and alpacas – all made possible by local sponsorship and lots of goodwill.

There will be plenty to eat and drink too with food outlets, stalls, Bay Horse Bar, refreshments, sports and games activities, ice cream and lots more.
One of the show organisers, Martin Peirson, said: “The current show committee have given the show a real shot in the arm – it’s like a mini festival on the day. Moving to the new site is very exciting, it gives us more elbow room and plenty of parking space.”
