A 15-year-old boy is in hospital with ‘life threatening’ injuries

Police have issued an appeal after a serious road traffic collision on Bellfield Avenue in Hull yesterday (July 16). Following the incident, a teenage boy remains in hospital.

The force said that at approximately 9.50pm, a bus driver and a cyclist were travelling southbound towards Saltshouse Road before they were involved in a collision. The cyclist, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital.

Police said his injuries are believed to be ‘life threatening’ at this time. No-one else is believed to have sustained any serious injuries as a result of the incident.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “If anyone witnessed the collision, has any dashcam or CCTV that may assist officers with ongoing enquiries, please contact 101 quoting log 639 of 16 July 2026.”
