Magic Weekend delivered plenty of memorable moments as a record-breaking event took place at Everton FC’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.
A total of 77,442 fans attended across the six matches staged in Liverpool, while a further 5,483 watched the Magic fixture between Toulouse Olympique and Catalans Dragons in France.
That means a record total attendance of 82,925 for the 2026 edition, while Sunday’s crowd of 42,903 was also the biggest single-day attendance in the event’s history.
Many supporters took the opportunity to grab selfies and autographs from some of the game’s biggest names, with Leeds Rhinos star Jake Connor among the most popular outside Everton’s ground.
The reigning Man of Steel greeted fans and posed for pictures following Leeds’ 50-16 victory on Sunday, with plenty of supporters calling for his attention.
Head coaches also played their part, with Paul Rowley, Willie Peters and Ryan Carr among those to take time to pose for selfies with supporters. In one amusing moment, Wakefield fans even asked Castleford boss Carr for a picture after thrashing Castleford 48-6.
Another heartwarming gesture saw Super League present a young St Helens supporter with a new match ball after an incident in which he was left without one in the crowd.
St Helens have since invited the youngster to attend a training session, as well as offering him a signed ball.
Speaking of Magic Weekend balls, one eagle-eyed supporter spotted a couple of errors on this year’s edition. Leeds Rhinos were missing completely, while Catalans Dragons were included despite the ball advertising only the 12 Super League teams to be playing in Liverpool. The Dragons and Toulouse Olympique played their Magic fixture separately in France.
Mikey Lewis was also back to his pantomime villain antics, winding up the Hull FC supporters during Saturday’s Hull derby. After being tackled by Jed Cartwright in his own in-goal area, Lewis turned to the Hull FC end and soaked up the reaction before coolly taking the goal-line drop-out. But away from the action, he was all class after being spotted with supporters.
It was also confirmed that £15,000 will be donated to the MND Association through the competition’s partnership with Betfred following a weekend of try celebrations.
Super League’s Magic Weekend will return to the home of Everton FC next year, with a confirmed date of May 1-2 after a record-breaking 2026.
