Hull City remain keen on signing Brazil striker Emersonn with talks ongoing between the Premier League club and French side Toulouse over a deal.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of City‘s top summer transfer targets as they look to bolster their attacking ranks in preparation for the new campaign.
City have already seen one bid rebuffed by Toulouse, and reports emerged on Friday morning that a second bid of £22.3m had been submitted, but Hull Live understands those figures are higher than what the Tigers have offered for the frontman.
Their initial bid was believed to be in the region of £10m for a player who moved to France last summer from Turkish side Goztepe in a deal worth around £3m. City believe a deal can be done for the youngster who came through the academy at Athletico Paranaense.
It’s thought the pacey youngster is keen for the chance to ply his trade in the Premier League, and discussions between the two clubs are set to continue.

Last term, Emersonn played 27 times in Ligue 1, scoring six times and while his goal record in France’s top league is modest, City believe he’s a player with significant potential and one who can benefit from playing with experienced marksman Oli McBurnie.
Any deal for the youngster could see City break their transfer record, which currently stands at £13.8m. That was the fee the Tigers paid to sign Ryan Mason from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2016. At some point this summer, that figure is almost certainly set to be broken.
