Hull City have written to a section of supporters to advise them that they will need to relocate their seats, following promotion to the Premier League.
City supporters located in block six of the West Stand upper tier will be moved to accommodate new media facilities.
Premier League bosses visited the MKM Stadium in February, along with a host of other clubs in the promotion race, to assess how ready the facilities were.
While the MKM Stadium is still relatively modern, there are a number of areas that must be renovated to meet fresh standards that have been brought in since the Tigers last operated in the top flight a decade ago.
Following last month’s sensational Wembley victory in the play-off final at Wembley, the club have held regular meetings with officials from the Premier League, with City having to meet the requirements laid out, and time now running out to complete the work.
One of many required is to revamp the press facilities, both in the West Stand and below, with work set to finally begin next week ahead of the big season opener against Manchester United on August 22.
“As we prepare for an exciting return to the Premier League, Hull City would like to make members seated in West Stand Upper Block WU6 aware of an important seating update for the 2026/27 season,” the club said in a statement.

“As part of a number of stadium enhancements and operational changes being implemented ahead of the 2026/27 season, a new press and media area will be created within West Stand Upper Block WU6. As a result, supporters currently holding memberships in this area will need to relocate to an alternative seat within the MKM Stadium.
“We understand this may be disappointing news and would like to reassure affected supporters that our ticket office team will work closely with each individual to identify the most suitable alternative seat available.
“Supporters impacted by this change are asked to contact the ticket office by Friday 3rd July to discuss available seating options and arrange their relocation.
“The ticket office can be contacted on 01482 505600 or visited in person at the MKM Stadium between 9:30am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. We would like to thank affected supporters for their understanding and continued support as we prepare for the 2026/27 Premier League season.”
The MKM Stadium is set to host just one home friendly this summer, with the club in talks with European opposition. That game is expected to take place when Sergej Jakirovic’s squad return from their pre-season training camp in Slovenia and then Turkey.
Before that, Hull FC fans will get a glimpse of the progress being made inside the stadium bowl when they host Leigh Leopards on July 18, before the big city derby against KR the following weekend.
