Former Hull FC players Feka Paleaaesina and Josh Griffin will take part in a charity game this September. The players are the first former stars to be confirmed to play in the match, which will see the Hull FC Community Foundation XIII take on Life For A Kid’s Jai Arrow Select XIII.
The game is the foundation’s annual charity fixture and will celebrate two decades since it’s foundation back in 2006. The foundation team will be made up of former Hull FC players, foundation staff, and programme participants.
The game will take place at West Hull RLFC’s Johnny Whiteley Park on Sunday 13 September at 1:00 pm. All funds raised on the day will be split between the two charities – with the aim of supporting the Motor Neurone Disease Community.
A statement from Hull FC read: “The fixture, now in its second year, will spotlight the power of rugby league to inspire, connect and support local communities, with all proceeds going toward life-changing work that empowers young people and improves lives.
“Both teams will name a 20-man squad, with former Hull FC players, with Feka Paleaaesina and Josh Griffin the first legends to be announced as part of the Foundation side – more players will be announced in the build-up to the match.
“Donations on the day for attendance will be taken, with a split of the gate being split between Hull FC Foundation and Life for a Kid, raising money aimed for MND.”
Furthermore, supporters are encouraged to book their place in a human MND sign in support of the RB7 Foundation and Jai Arrow, which will take place immediately after the game. A £30 donation will secure your spot, with each entry able to choose a Rob Burrow or Jai Arrow shirt of their choice. There are four designs to pick from. You can view them here.
