The newly-promoted Tigers were beaten by the Blues back in February
Hull City have been slapped with an FA charge after it was alleged that sections of the MKM Stadium crowd engaged in abusive chanting against Chelsea back in February.
City were beaten 4-0 by the Blues in the fourth round of the FA Cup the day before Valentine’s Day, in what was one of Liam Rosenior’s early games in charge.
Against his former club, Rosenior oversaw a comfortable victory against City, but he has since been sacked by the Premier League outfit.

Four men, aged 24, 45 and 21 respectively, were arrested during the game, which saw a message posted on the MKM Stadium’s big screen, urging people to stop.
“There has been discriminatory chanting from fans inside the stadium. This is unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the sign read, before those arrests were confirmed in the second half. Those messages came after the club had released a warning the night before the first meeting between the two sides since 2020.
“Hull City AFC has been charged with breaching FA Rules E21.1 and E21.4 during the 31st minute of the FA Cup fixture against Chelsea FC on Friday, 13 February 2026,” the FA said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s alleged that the club failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be supporters) do not use words or behave in an improper, offensive, abusive, indecent or insulting way with a reference – whether express or implied – to sexual orientation. Hull City AFC has until Tuesday, 2 June 2026, to provide a response.”
Speaking after the game, City boss Sergej Jakirovic condemned the behaviour: “This is not a place for this, for sure, in the stadium and also in public as well. This is not good,” the Croatian said. “The stadium is not a place for that, and this is the reason why they have been arrested.”
