Hadley was an injury doubt coming into this Challenge Cup final week
Dean Hadley looks set to be involved for Hull KR this weekend as the Robins take on Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup final.
Hadley picked up a hamstring injury in the closing stages of last week’s game against Wigan at Craven Park and he was forced to leave the field gingerly for treatment.
He was assessed over the weekend and the scan that followed showed up a minor injury which plunged his cup final chances into real doubt.
However, after missing training on Monday, Hadley came through Wednesday’s session unscathed.
As such, he has travelled with the team down to Wembley this morning and he has been named in the 21-man squad to take on the Cherry and Whites.
Hull Live managed to speak to him briefly at KR’s public send off at Craven Park.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “I’m healthy, I did a bit of training yesterday so hopefully I’m good to go.”
The Robins will train on the pitch at Wembley Stadium om Friday afternoon and Hadley is expected to be involved. If he comes through that, the back-rower will almost certainly feature in Willie Peters’ starting XIII on Saturday afternoon.
And, it’s fair to say that if Hadley were to play it would be a huge boost for the Robins. The 33-year-old’s tenacity and determination, particularly in defence, is pivotal to the way KR play and his fitness will breed more confidence into the Robins as they look to go back to back.
