Latest Hull and East Riding planning decisions and applications

  1. An application has been submitted to Hull City Council for 9 Westbourne Avenue to be converted into an 8-bed HMO. The property, off Princes Avenue, was originally a two-storey 4-bed terraced house but has since had a loft conversion which added a further 4 bedrooms. Plans explain that the majority of the proposed work is internal, however changes are planned for the rear yard area where 9 car parking bays are planned.
  2. East Riding Council has approved an application for a pub to be turned into an office space. Plans for the application, which relates to the site of The Game Bird pub on Holme Church Lane in Beverley, say the holiday accommodation on the upper floors will remain whilst the ground floor is to become office space. The pub closed down earlier in the year.
  3. Plans for a new hot food takeaway in Hornsea have been refused by East Riding Council. The application sought to change the use of number 2 The Greenway from a shop to a hot food takeaway which would have sold pizza, burgers, and fried chicken, according to plans. A council decision notice, which explains the reasons for refusal, claims the application failed to demonstrate that the proposed extraction equipment would be capable of mitigating smell and noise outputs.
  4. East Riding Council has approved plans for two agricultural buildings to be converted into a padel, Pilates, and yoga facility. The site will be established at Beacon Farm, north of Bainton.
