A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a “serious assault” in west Hull left a 72-year-old badly injured. Police say the incident happened on De La Pole Avenue on Wednesday evening (April 29).
It is reported the man was assaulted outside a property on the street. Detective Inspector Lloyd Sharkett, of Humberside Police, said: “At around 9.20pm, we received a report that a man had been seriously assaulted outside a property on De La Pole Avenue in Hull following a verbal altercation.
“Emergency services were immediately deployed, and a 72-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive treatment to serious injuries. Officers attended the scene, and a 17-year-old boy was arrested in the area on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, grievous bodily harm, and assault by beating. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we are working to establish the movements of those involved in the incident. We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything or who has CCTV, Ring doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area at the time, as this could assist our investigation.”
