A body has sadly been found in Cottingham today which police believe is missing 78-year-old John.
Officers were in attendance in the area of Park Lane, Cottingham, and the body has been recovered from the area. Police said that John was reported missing yesterday (April 21).
The force said that while formal identification is yet to take place, they believe it to be missing 78-year-old John. Police also confirmed that they do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death at this time.
In a full statement, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers were in attendance in the area of Park Lane, Cottingham today (Wednesday, 22 April 2026) following the discovery of a man’s body.
“The body has been recovered from the area, and whilst formal identification is yet to take place, we believe this to be missing 78-year-old John, who was reported missing yesterday (Tuesday, 21 April).
“John’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers, and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
We can confirm there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death at this time.”
