The Tigers will be without the United man for the remainder of the campaign
Hull City are keen to strike a deal with Manchester United to bring back Toby Collyer next season, despite the midfielder playing just over 350 minutes of football in the Championship this season.
Collyer is not expected to play again in the 2025/26 campaign after sustaining a twisted ankle in training ahead of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.
The on-loan Manchester United talent is returning to Carrington this week for treatment on the injury he picked up after goalkeeper Dillon Phillips unfortunately landed on him, and he’s not likely to play again this term.
News of Collyer’s latest injury setback has come as a major blow to boss Sergej Jakirovic and City fans, who were left suitably impressed with his full debut in the stalemate with leaders Coventry City earlier this month.

Collyer himself will be disappointed, having been hampered by injuries all season, including in the first half of the campaign when he was on loan at West Brom.
After arriving in January, having come close to moving to the MKM Stadium last summer before opting to join Albion, Collyer made just four appearances for the Tigers, with three of those coming off the bench.
Despite his struggles with injury over the past few months, City remain keen to bring the 22-year-old back to the MKM Stadium next season, and have already held exploratory talks with Collyer and United over that possibility.
It’s understood that the ex-Brighton and Hove Albion performer has expressed his willingness to return to East Yorkshire, though the division City find themselves in will likely have a bearing on the final decision.
Collyer’s Old Trafford deal runs out in the summer of 2027, though the Red Devils do have the option to extend that by a further 12 months.
