The UK group has expanded its operation at Priory Tec Park

New jobs are expected to be created with the expansion of an East Yorkshire car dealership. JCT600 has launched a new Approved Centre selling used vehicles in Hull.

The UK firm has opened the new facility at Priory Tec Park in Hessle, making it the second JCT600 dealership to open there this month following the group’s launch of an outlet for Chinese electric vehicle brand Changan. As part of the move, JCT600’s Volkswagen van operation has relocated to the group’s neighbouring Volkswagen car dealership, also at Priory Tec Park.

About 60 new and used vehicles will be seen on the forecourt at the new Approved Centre, including a wide range of makes and models. Servicing and aftersales support will also be on site. Overall, the move is expected to create 10 new jobs covering a mix of sales and aftersales roles.

John Tordoff, JCT600 executive chairman, said: “JCT600 Approved Centres play an important role in our business, enabling us to provide customers with a wide range of high-quality used vehicles, that have undergone a detailed inspection and are price checked by our specialist teams to ensure they offer the best possible value. The opening of our Hull site, alongside our new Changan electric vehicle dealership, demonstrates our long-term commitment to the region and ensures we can support customers at every stage of their vehicle ownership journey.”

The Hull site joins JCT600’s network of six Approved Centres across Yorkshire and the East Midlands, which operate alongside the group’s franchised dealerships. The firm says all vehicles undergo comprehensive checks and preparation, and customers are offered part-exchange deals.

Founded in Bradford in 1946, JCT600 represents 19 manufacturers and operates more than 50 dealerships and automotive businesses across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and the North East. The £1.33bn turnover family-owned business says it continues to invest in its retail network.
