City head back to North Wales for their second Racecourse outing of the season
Sergej Jakirovic must decide whether to stick with the Hull City starting XI that performed so well against Millwall, or make changes for Tuesday night’s huge game at play-off rivals Wrexham.
City delivered one their best home performances of the season on Saturday, but fell to a undeserved 3-1 defeat to Millwall, their second consecutive loss in a game where their own errors were punished by a resiliant Lions outfit.
Despite impressing in a largely dominant display, Jakirovic may look to freshen things up for their second trip to North Wales than season, having been dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the Racecourse back in August.
John Lundstram impressed having come in for a rare start in place of Amir Hadziahmetovic, who had been suffering with an ankle injury he picked up in last Tuesday’s defeat to Ipswich Town.

That may well be Jakirovic’s biggest decision, with the rest of the starting XI likely to remain largely the same. He may decide Semi Ajayi cannot play two games in three days, and bring back John Egan or Paddy McNair.
First-choice goalkeeper Ivor Pandur is likely to keep his place despite a costly error on Saturday, while Lewie Coyle is expected to continue at left-back, despite the ankle issue he came into the game with.
On the bench, Mo Belloumi could make his first appearance in a City squad since the 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day after recovering from his latest hamstring injury.
City’s predicted XI: Pandur, Coyle, Hughes, Ajayi, Drameh, Amir, Slater, Millar, Joseph, Gelhardt, McBurnie.
