Plans for homes at the site have previously been rejected

Plans for eight new homes in Beverley have been submitted to East Riding Council. At this stage, developers are simply hoping for the council to agree to the plans in principle rather than the project’s finer details.

An application seeking outline planning permission has been submitted which proposes building the eight homes on an area of land to the West of Voase Way in the East Yorkshire town. Another application, also for eight houses on the site, was refused by the council earlier in the year.

This subsequent application seeks to address concerns raised by the council upon refusing the initial application. The application was refused on a number of grounds including potential flooding concerns.

The site is located in the south of the town and is largely surrounded by other newly built homes, including those off Spruce Avenue and Elm Tree Drive. Keldmarsh Primary School sits nearby, to the North of the site.

In refusing the previous application, the council said the site includes area that are at risk of flooding. In this new application, an updated Flood Risk Assessment Strategy has been submitted.

As these are simply outline plans, the exact design of the properties is not depicted. Such details would be dealt with in a full planning application if the council gives the plans permission in principle.

Despite finer details not being available, a diagram showing the general plots each property would have has been submitted to the council. This is available to be viewed on the council’s planning portal.
