The independent veterinary hospital is due to open in January 2027

Hull pet owners will have access to a new independent, not-for-profit veterinary hospital when Animal Trust Vets opens at The Point in Stoneferry Road. More than £750,000 is being invested in the new hospital, which will bring routine care, 24-hour emergency care, surgery and advanced diagnostics together under one roof.

Registration is due to open in December 2026 and the hospital is set to launch in January 2027. The hospital will serve communities across Hull and East Yorkshire, including Stoneferry, Sutton, Kingswood, Bransholme and east Hull, as well as Cottingham, Hedon, Beverley, Hessle and surrounding areas.

Free on-site parking and links to the city’s main roads will make the site accessible to pet owners travelling from across the region. Owen Monie, founder of Animal Trust Vets, said: “We founded Animal Trust because too many families face difficult choices when their pet needs treatment.

“Our Hull hospital will bring together modern facilities, experienced veterinary professionals and fair, transparent pricing, so that trusted veterinary care is easier to access for local families. We also want to create a place where veterinary teams can do what they do best: practise veterinary medicine fully, work together and put animal welfare first.

“Our ambition is to become part of the Hull community for the long term, building trusted relationships with pets, their owners and the people who care for them.” Animal Trust Vets’ not-for-profit model enables it to reinvest the majority of its profits into patient care and help keep treatment prices fair and transparent, with no hidden costs.

The Hull hospital will apply the same approach, with a focus on providing the right care at the right cost, while ensuring pets receive the high standard of veterinary treatment they need. Services planned for the Hull hospital include:

  • Daytime appointments and 24-hour emergency veterinary care
  • Consultations and vaccinations
  • Dentistry and surgery
  • Advanced diagnostics, including an on-site laboratory, X-ray and ultrasound
  • Emergency care with an £80 out-of-hours supplement.

The modern hospital will give veterinary teams the facilities, expertise and diagnostic support to practise veterinary medicine fully, managing a broad range of cases locally from routine preventative care to urgent treatment and surgery. The approach is centred on animal welfare first, with veterinary teams supported to make appropriate clinical decisions based on each pet’s individual needs, while keeping care as accessible and affordable as possible for their owners.

Animal Trust Vets is recruiting veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and support staff for the new hospital. The organisation is looking for people who want to work in an independent, purpose-led practice where they can practise veterinary medicine fully, work as part of a supportive team and make a meaningful difference to pets and their owners.
