Fun around the finish line at the prestigious race

Beverley Westwood is set to host a variety of cycling-based activities for families as part of the Lloyds Tour of Britain festivities. The 2026 event will take place in Hull and the East Riding, on Friday, September 4.
It will depart from East Park in Hull in a 181.3km stage, through Withernsea, up to Hornsea and on to Skipsea. As the race heads to Burton Agnes, a series of climbs face the riders as they head through Driffield before heading downhill into Wetwang as the race gears up for an exciting climax.
Once they reach Beverley, the riders will face a 16km circuit with two passages finishing with a testing uphill drag to the racecourse for its conclusion. Residents and visitors will be able to watch the riders arrive and enjoy the podium presentation and Tour Village activities following the race.
The Tour Village, which will feature the finish line, will host a variety of activities, including:
- A live freestyle mountain bike show featuring world-class riders, BMX stunts and aerial displays
- Family cycle try-out sessions, offering a wide range of bikes and adapted cycles suitable for all ages and abilities
- A supervised cycling skills track featuring ramps, balance beams, slalom sections and other obstacles, designed to help children build confidence, balance and bike-handling skills in a fun, safe group environment
- The dirt factory pump track course and a freestyle airbag landing, giving riders a fun and safe way to develop cycling skills, confidence and technique.
- Plus, lots of cycling-themed activities and opportunities to learn more about cycling in the East Riding.
Councillor Anne Handley, leader of East Riding Council, said: “We’re delighted that Beverley Westwood will host the Tour Village as part of the Tour of Britain, giving residents and visitors the chance to experience the excitement of one of the country’s biggest sporting events. We encourage everyone to get involved and discover the range of family-friendly activities on offer on the day.
“It will offer a fantastic range of family activities that encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved in cycling. We encourage everyone to get involved, build confidence and discover the many benefits of being active.
