Police have issued a statement after armed officers were seen on Humber Street in Hull this morning. A notable police presence was reported in the area from around 10.30am today (Wednesday, August 19).
Humberside Police have since said the report involved “concern for a man’s safety” and it is alleged that there were threats with a knife involved including “to harm police officers”. A spokesperson for the force added: “Following the report, officers including armed firearms officers were immediately deployed to the scene and located a man matching a given description.
“A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray; he remains in police custody at this time.”
