Bridlington has today (Wednesday, August 5) undergone a festive makeover once again with the return of Bridmas Day.
With children hailing Santa as the big man in red went on a beach walkabout and the Grinch stopping by for selfies, it has been a day full of Christmas cheer, family entertainment and Yuletide-style activities – more than four months before Christmas Day! Following the success of previous years, the 2026 event has seen festive entertainment spring up across South Beach, Bridlington Promenade, Bridlington Spa, Sewerby Hall and Gardens, East Riding Leisure Bridlington and locations across the town.
Organised by East Riding Of Yorkshire Council, Bridmas celebrates all things Christmas in the middle of summer, while showcasing Bridlington as a year-round destination for visitors and residents alike. When the heat is on, what better than to see a giant snowman on the seashore and a Christmas tree sprouting from the sand?
