Abdus Omur says the chance to prove himself this summer is one that he’s been waiting for, as he looks to make an impression ahead of the new Premier League season.
Omur played the full 90 minutes on Saturday night and claimed a clever assist for Oli McBurnie’s equalising goal, as Hull City ended their two-week training camp with a 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa.
The Turkish playmaker quickly snapped the ball back before Liam Millar fed him, and he slotted in McBurnie with an inventive pass to snatch a deserved equaliser.
Omur’s trip away started badly, after finding himself on the wrong end of a bad challenge against Konyaspor last Saturday, which forced him off in the first half. He was back in the team and got himself another assist for Kieran Dowell’s strike.

A move to Manchester City was talked about a few years ago, but he remained in Turkey with Trabzonspor, before moving to City a couple of Januarys ago, but his move to England hasn’t worked so far and last season, he spent the campaign on loan with Antalyaspor.
Despite being back in the Super Lig, Omur was unable to have much of an impact, and the club was relegated before he returned to City in the summer. He’s determined to take his chance now that the Tigers are in the Premier League.
“For me, the camp had started unfortunately,” he told Aspor. “I was aware of how important this camp was for me. I’d missed a chance like this years ago. The opportunity to play in the Premier League again came knocking at my door here.
“That’s why I needed to show what I could do in the camp. It was a good camp overall. Because we did such intense training sessions, we couldn’t deliver the exact performance we wanted in these preparation matches, but I think we’ll be ready by the time the season starts.”
