A popular pub in Bransholme has reopened following a major facelift, further cementing it at the heart of the local community. The Meadows, in Minehead Road, has seen a spend of over £376k which, combined with her expertise and enthusiasm, has enabled new operator Steph Moynes to create a lively social hub for residents to enjoy.
The Meadows is part of Proper Pubs, the award-winning community wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns, which operates more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales. Inside, the pub has been completely transformed to include brand-new flooring, fixtures and fittings throughout.
The refurbished pub also includes two new dart boards, a new pool table and six new televisions for customers to enjoy. Outside, The Meadows has new lighting, signage and a fresh coat of paint – in addition, the refurbished beer garden now has capacity to seat approximately 150 people.
Steph, who has worked in the pub industry for almost two decades and now comes to run The Meadows, said: “It has been great to reopen our doors and welcome both new and familiar faces into The Meadows. I am so pleased with how the refurbishment has turned out, the pub looks terrific!
“I would like to say a massive thank you to the local community who have been so supportive since we reopened. I would also like to thank my team and the team at Proper Pubs who have been incredible throughout this entire journey.”
On top of the fantastic drinks selection, the operator is now hosting a busy schedule of entertainment for customers to enjoy, including weekly DJs and karaoke on Friday nights, and live music every Saturday. Steph is also hoping to support all aspects of community life by collecting food to donate to the local foodbank.
Going forward, she also hopes to support Claire House children’s hospice with organising charity events in the future. Matthew Gurney, operations director for Proper Pubs, said: “It’s a real pleasure to have Steph at The Meadows.

Proper Pubs is always looking for ways to support its communities through an annual schedule of events and fundraising initiatives. This year, over Easter, it collected 21,619 Easter eggs to be donated to local charities and in 2025, operators collected 17,500 selection boxes to donate to local charities and communities in need for Christmas, as well as raising £80,255 for Admiral Taverns’ charity partner, Claire House.
Last year, Proper Pubs also successfully donated enough food to local foodbanks across the UK to feed 1,300 people for a week and has also been recognised in the UK-wide defibrillator installation campaign, which has already saved 11 lives. In 2026, Proper Pubs was listed as a finalist in the Best Community Pub category at the Great British Publican Awards and was previously crowned Community Pub Operator at the Publican Awards in 2024.
