Hull is gearing up for its biggest ever Pride event on Saturday

As Hull gears up to celebrate its milestone 25th Pride in Hull event on Saturday, businesses from around the city are preparing to welcome the crowds and celebrate love and inclusivity. The event has been described by organisers as “the biggest Pride in Hull event to date” with pop stars, choirs, drag artists and parades on the set list.
One Hull venue will be opening its doors on Saturday at 10am, and the party will continue until 6am on Sunday. The Star, on Carr Lane. has been supporting Pride in Hull for the past decade and is one of the event sponsors. One of its owners, Jim Bigby, says everyone is welcome.
Jim said: “It’s a fantastic venue and our entertainment is our hub. We always aim to put in as many acts on Pride as possible, so expect a fun-packed time!” The Star has a large outdoor stage that will be showcasing over a dozen acts throughout the day. There will be cabaret acts, singers, DJs and drag artists. Inside, resident DJ Phil will be playing the tunes.
In celebration of Pride Month and looking ahead to Hull Pride this weekend, researchers for Buzz Bingo have taken a look at the best cities across the UK to celebrate the event. Hull was named in the top five best cities to celebrate Pride. The study cited Hull’s 66 pubs and cheaper average pint as reasons the city is in the top five places to celebrate Pride. An average pint costs £3.25, the lowest pint price across all cities in the study, joint with Bradford. In London, the average pint will set you back £7.
Researchers compiled the data based on several factors, including the number of LGBTQ+ bars and clubs, the biggest artists to play at Pride celebrations based on Spotify listens, the price of an average pint and the cost of an average meal.
Pride in Hull 2026 will feature performances from Steps star Claire Richards, pop duo The Cheeky Girls, and nostalgic pop group Fast Food Rockers. The main stage, in Zebedee’s Yard, will also feature a performance from Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner (Season 5) Ginger Johnson plus sets from Coco, Miss Fanny, Sheila Diamond, Kerry Ellis, Xtina Live and Zara.
There will be performances on the main stage from Hessle Theatre Company, State of the Arts Academy and the NHS Choir. The balcony of Hull City Hall will be taken over with live DJ sets, while pop-up dance performances and giant chess will be happening at the Rose Bowl at Queen’s Gardens.
A community market, featuring more than 40 vendors, will take over King Edward Street and Paragon Street, while Queen Victoria Square will shine the spotlight on local businesses, organisations and support groups. Ferens Art Gallery will be home to the Pride in Hull family area, featuring Jeddy Bear and Gary, and AB Dance School, and you will be able to learn circus skills with Tiny Circus and join a Sax Rave from 12pm to 4pm.
