Hadley has been given the green light to return for the Robins this weekend
Dean Hadley is fresh, ready and raring to go for Hull KR as they approach the Super League run-in, says Willie Peters.
Hadley has missed the last two weeks of action for the Robins after failing a head injury assessment in the opening stages of the clash with Leeds Rhinos last month.
The back-rower sustained concussion after a clash of heads with Tom Amone, who is also set to return this week against Warrington Wolves with the same incident leaving the prop with a fractured eye socket.
That was Hadley’s second concussion in the space of a month and the forward had to be cleared by a specialist in order to return to the action.
Hadley has managed to keep himself ticking over and while a concussion is always a serious matter, Peters believes his time away from Super League will have him feeling re-energised and ready to meet the final weeks of the campaign head on as Rovers strive to build up their form once more.
“Yeah absolutely it could for someone like Dean who plays every minute every week,” Peters said when asked Hadley’s lay-off could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. “You never want that to happen off the back of head knocks and being ruled out, but Dean just wants a bit of flow now and we just want to see him nice and healthy on the field again.
“The way Dean plays and the way the game is, those type of players are never comfortable because they’re so physical and they’re too tough for their own good sometimes. Dean had, before that, a really good run and I just want to him go back on that run again.
“Dean wants to play every minute of every game but we had to go through a process so he’s just very happy that he’s back playing again. He’s important to what we do.
“He’s done what he’s needed to. He’s been limited to what he can do but once he passed everything and he’s seen the specialist, he’s back in full training.”
