Former Hull FC and Hull KR forward Kye Armstrong has signed for Hull-based National Conference League side Myton Warriors.
The club, based in North Hull, have stated that the loose-forward opted for the Warriors despite offers from Championship clubs, with the player instead opting to get back ‘playing alongside his mates’ after a spell outside of the game.
Armstrong, still only 21, was released from Hull KR at the end of last season, having featured for the club’s reserve side. He made three appearances on loan at Goole Vikings, adding to two senior games for Midlands Hurricanes, also on loan, the season before.
The forward came through the ranks at Hull FC, featuring for their academy and reserve sides. He left the Black and Whites at the end of the 2024 season, joining the Robins several months later.
Armstrong has spent time out of the game building up his personal training business, but will now step into rugby league again – playing alongside former Hull academy teammate Lennon Bursell.
A club statement from the NCL club read: “Myton Warriors have made a statement signing this week securing the signature of ex-Hull FC and Hull KR forward Kye Armstrong. Very highly rated throughout the game and with a host of Championship clubs interested, it is a major coup for the Warriors.
“Kye commented that a lot of his mates are down at Myton and he wants to get back playing with them in what is a really young and exciting squad, joining the likes of other signings from Hull FC like Lennon Bursell and Ben Bradshaw. Everyone down at the club look forward to seeing Kye make his debut in our next game.”
The club have also teased two more signings stating: “Stay tuned this week for two further arrivals from Hull FC.”
They have won four of their 13 games so far in 2026 and are next in action away at Bradford Dudley Hill on Saturday 11 July.
